Alex has advanced training and expertise in airway management. He co-authored one of the largest recent studies of airway complications in the UK, which was published in the world-renowned Anaesthesia journal. As an anaesthetic expert witness, he is well-placed to review and comment on airway management in medicolegal cases.
After becoming a consultant, Alex completed the European Diploma in Regional Anaesthesia. This prestigious qualification requires rigorous knowledge and practice of all areas of regional anaesthesia, including spinal anaesthesia, epidural anaesthesia, and nerve blocks. He performs a high volume of nerve blocks in his orthopaedic practice.
Alex works in a busy district general hospital, a position that provides him with extensive exposure to all areas of anaesthesia, excluding cardiac anaesthesia and neuroanaesthesia. His experience, combined with his knowledge of relevant guidelines, enables him to assess and comment on standards of care in an independent and impartial manner.
